A mystery shopper exercise should never be undertaken as an exercise in 'checking-up' or 'catching-out' staff. Instead they should be open, constructive, targeted and defined by a spirit of organisational development leading to improved customer experiences.

 

Once completed, meaningful feedback should be given to all participants with exposure of the outcomes reaching to the highest levels within the organisation. However, the most important aspect must be that, once completed, action should be taken based on the outcomes of the process.
