The trainer was a brilliant tutor with vast experience behind her. Very courteous, allowed contributions and has an in-depth understanding of the topic. She explained the major difference between leadership and management. Excellent session.

Introduction to Leadership

I found the section on having an understanding of the cultural and communication barriers of IMGs and how to support them most valuable. This can go a long way to help them adjust to a completely different and complex healthcare system.

Supporting International Medical Graduates (IMGs)

Practising making and presenting our presentation was extremely helpful. I also liked the feedback that the trainer gave. Useful when thinking about how to improve in the future.

Presentation Skills

Really enjoyed the part where we talked about identity and the positive aspects about ourselves which sort of helped me to know about the positive behavioural traits I have in myself and helped me with my confidence in some way.

Unlocking Your Potential

I found the section on what a good training course structure is i.e. aims, objectives, contents etc so I know how to structure sessions valuable. And learning what my learning style was from the questionnaires was valuable.

Teach the Teacher

This was by far the best training day I have ever attended. From start to finish it was delivered in such a way that made it relevant, informative and relatable to what is required in practice. Although there was so much information given throughout the course of the day, the pace at which it was delivered was extremely and expertly timed so as not to make you feel overloaded with facts. Everyone was welcomed warmly, genuinely and was made to feel valued and respected.

Breaking Bad News

I found learning how to incorporate GROW into conversations with trainees and discussions around dealing with difficult conversations with trainees most valuable. Very well organised and delivered by an expert trainer. The course has provided me with strategies that I will practice to improve my communication in challenging situations with both patients and colleagues.
