CIEH Level 1 Award in Health and Safety

Duration: 1/2 day including exam

 

Course introduction

This qualification is designed for everyone entering the workplace for the first time- either as a part of a work experience programme or at the start of employment- and those starting a new job. It is designed to ensure candidates are aware of the key health & safety issues and the part that they should play in keeping themselves and others free from harm in the workplace. Suggested progression is the Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the workplace

The holder of the CIEH Level 1 Award in Health and Safety will:

• Understand the importance of health & safety in the workplace.
• Identify the hazards and risks related to the workplace.
• Understand workplace health and safety procedures.

The course covers

• Introduction to health and safety and its importance
• The scope of workplace hazards and risks
• The range of workplace conditions
• Workplace procedures- reporting, protective clothing, first aid etc
