Team Building for you and your company - strengthening bonds for the future

If you need to bolster team spirit in your company and decide to go on a team building exercise, then Maguire Training can offer you a number of options to fulfil this objective. Why not take your staff team for a truly unique experience and take on our 'Space Challenge'! The challenger team building learning centres were conceived by the bereaved families of the 1986 challenger shuttle crew as a memorial to their loved ones. Originally designed to inspire school students to learn maths and science, the centres are also available for corporate team building use and allow organisations to discover the parallels between space missions and normal working environments. At the Leicester Challenger Centre we will put your managers through a fully manned space mission that will be facilitated by Maguire Training and trained flight director instructors. For team building purposes the two groups will be assigned in order to man mission control and the space station and will be given specific mission objectives that they must achieve while there. Members of the team will be asked to take on specific roles such as medical officer, astronaut or probe engineer and will receive detailed feedback on the mission after the team building exercise has been completed.

More team building for your managers and staff

After your managers and staff have taken a short break the mission control and space station teams will then switch roles and run a second mission following further team building feedback and analysis. After the successful completion of both missions, team members will be served lunch, to prepare them for the afternoon's activities. During both sets of activities the emphasis is on co-operation and also for working together to achieve a common goal and to of course have fun during the team building sessions. Managers and their staff can look at working practices and through expert feedback can look at issues and the virtual teams can also be explored. This is done through the use of video links, headsets and email links which are used during the mission and provide strong parallels with day-to-day working like and practices in the workplace. For team building purposes there would also be a problem solving series of challenge activities and simulation tests for leadership, communication team work and influencing skills. All the while these activities will be conducted in a suitable and objective environment.
After completing two missions and then having lunch, the Maguire Training facilitators who will be there to run the team building courses will take the teams into a classroom environment and will de-brief them. This will be about the morning's activities and will go into detail at examining the lessons that can and should be learned and then implemented after the team building course, for when they are back at work again. When the afternoon session begins, they will then again see practical exercises in use but will be geared entirely to taking the lessons from the morning's session and applying them to the workplace by way of thought provoking discussion, feedback and coaching. This team building event is based on a minimum of 14 and a maximum of 30 delegates participating and Maguire Training will also be able to provide mementos. This will consist of specially made polo t-shirts for each member of the teams to keep and to remind them of their experience during the time they are back at work and also a photo-CD of the key moments of the event. In the final analysis of the team building session the team will go away from the event having had a truly unique experience. It is hoped that this will impact on their behaviour back at work and which they can take further and think back on for some time to come.

Team Building in the Classroom: Teams and Team Working (Classroom Based and Outdoor Non-Strenuous)

This course goes on for two days and is basically a team building course which is based indoors and outdoors. This is a highly interactive and practical two days has been designed to provide an interesting and valuable mix of outdoor team exercises, backed up by indoor creative workshops, personality profiling, analysis and feedback. The team building profiling tool used will be the insights discovery reports and will form an integral part of the sessions called 'valuing differences' which will take key learning points from each activity.

Business Solutions

360-Feedback

360-Feedback is possibly the most powerful mechanism for breaking into the cycle of development and revealing an individual's key development needs. Carried out effectively a 360 can highlight previously undiscovered issues in a manner that leads to constructive development, instead of confrontation.
The key to undertaking the 360 process is total commitment and high quality feedback. All Maguire professionals possess exceptional feedback skills and are able to adapt their personal styles to ensure that every individual that undertakes a 360 is given the thorough feedback that this process demands.
We can then go on from the 360 process to construct and develop personal development plans that will enable each participant to pursue their own development goals with regular evaluation and support along the way.
