It is a fact that team building can create positive office dynamics and bring great strength to your business

Strained office dynamics can create a great deal of problems in the work place, so you should have team building to add strength to you business. If you are a manager you really have no room to leave this team building aspect of your business unattended as problems then get chance to establish themselves within a group. You can apply a number of techniques as a manager for team building, to bring the team members together and unite even the most single minded individuals. This should enhance their ability to work together and make team building infectious!

Working through the team building strategies to get your staff moving together

Firstly, it is important to remember in team building to have good communication with other staff, and get across goals to them. Your staff will look to you for basic company targets and team building is a key part of this, in order to share your common goals with each other. Problems start to occur when these goals and targets are not made clear to staff, which can cause disagreements and hinders the team building process. Making this clear can aid team building and gives everyone an equal footing and a better understanding of how the business works.
Responsibilities of the people in the team should be defined so as to ensure that the office runs efficiently and everyone knows their role in the team, which will help with team building. For effective team building, each person must have these distinct definitions of their duties on individual terms as well as relating to group activities. Doing this will help team building by eliminating the problem of seeing who is responsible for which task and there is no confusion.

The three 'E's of team building success: Equality, Encouragement and Empowerment

Equal training for all members of staff for team building, is important as this will not only mean that staff are able to get trained to deal with all challenges they are faced with. This should be the goal to aim for at any rate and will help with team building as problems usually arise if one person is not as well trained as the others. This training should be ongoing to aid the team building you have started and pairing up employees can work well as the staff can support and learn from each other effectively, learning new skills and giving team building.
Encouragement is very important for team building and to help people to reach deadlines and completing tasks that need to be done on a daily basis, Encouraging relationships is part of this and giving employees the space and time to do this will ultimately aid team building.
Empowerment is a key element for all managers to take on board when considering the best way forward for team building. There is the excellent team building idea of giving people their own authority in order to let them lead themselves and to then sit back and see if they rise to the challenge. If you give trust you will be rewarded, as these employees will gain confidence and make decisions wisely and will improve the team building environment.

Communication and rewarding hardwork - the ingredients for team building

Providing feedback is a great tip for managers to get a team building environment in the office. It is not a good idea for team building to simply let your staff make guesses about how you view their work, it is better to sit down with them to discuss your expectations in regard to projects and to set goals and provide encouragement. This kind of clear and transparent communication will give better rapport and team building with staff as it will help individuals to work better together.
Rewarding your staff should not be taken lightly as a team building technique, as by taking them out for a lunch or giving an award can do wonders for team morale and motivation. Do this as a group so that all members of staff feel included and this should give equality, team building and renewed enthusiasm for the tasks ahead.

Team Building - final thoughts for success

Now you have your team motivated through team building, you can set them realistic time frames to complete the work that needs to be done. You should be sensitive to the idea of reasonable deadlines and divide up work accordingly between staff members - a strategy that will help team building. The team members will then support each other to complete the whole task to high quality and on time, and with your flexibility, awareness and team building can move towards success as a team.

Business Solutions

Recruitment

Too often recruitment can be characterised as a process in which 'eventually we shall find the right candidate'.
This approach is unacceptable to Maguire. Instead, we take the view that our job is to find the client one, two or three candidates for the position on which we have been briefed. The question for the client then is not 'which candidate can fulfill the role?', but instead 'which candidate do I want to work with?' because every candidate Maguire put forward will be equipped to undertake the role.
When our recruitment professionals undertake a bespoke recruitment project or executive search process they employ a wide range of tools aligned with the brief we have received. Often the use of profiling and psychometric tools help us to objectively assess a candidates suitability and in-depth behavioural interviewing then allows us to substantiate a candidates experience, drive and ambition.

Consultancy

At Maguire we believe that business consultancy is a tool - a means to an end. As such, it provides the client and Maguire with the opportunity to define their thinking on the key issues at hand and agree a plan for the way forward.
